Battenwear is a small, long-running “elevated GORP” operation. They used to be based in NYC and, upping the crunch quotient, have since relocated to Topanga. The clothes are designed by Shinya Hasegawa, who, before launching Battenwear, worked at Woolrich Woolen Mills under Daiki Suzuki of Engineered Garments. (Battenwear has done a bunch of sick collabs with EG, among others.)

People are cardigan cuckoo these days, and a well-cut fleece cardigan is a great little riff on the form. Meanwhile these crewnecks have a perfect backcountry dirtbag retro-futurist vibe, with the pronounced seam structure bringing nice lines to the relaxed fit 🤌🤌🤌.
